Hello Google Pixel 7 And 7 Pro
So Techtober just got interesting. Last month, we all were blown away by the introduction of the iPhone 14 lineup and all the cool features that came with them. We all thought nothing could get more interesting until Google dropped the new lineup of Pixel phones and oh boy were they interesting.
Right off the bat, Google threw a couple of jabs at Apple by highlighting how they always had the “Always On Display, Night Sight, and Astro-photography” which Apple introduced into their phones about 3 years ago. The biggest and most recent feature they called attention to was the fact that they already had “Car Crash Detection” which they introduced 3 years ago which Apple is now introducing to their phones.
Funny enough, not long after saying all this, Google started to show how they are also copying features from Apple's previous and current phones. Examples are the “Face Unlock” capability which Apple introduced with the iPhone X, “Cinematic Blur” which Apple already had and called “Cinematic Mode”, and the list goes on and on.
I think this mooching off everybody will continue till all smartphones have the same features all across their lineups as we all know by now. But with that out of the way let's glance through the stuff Google introduced. As we already know, they introduced the “Pixel 7 and 7 pro”. They also introduced the new “Pixel Watch” and a teaser of the “Pixel Tablet”. But let's focus more on the phones.
The Pixel 7 and 7 pro received a mid-refresh from the Pixel 6 and 6 pro which is fine with me because the Pixel 6 looks cool and I think it should be a benchmark phone for feather pixels to come. The few distinctions between the Pixel 6 and 7 I spotted were the vaicer on the 7 which has been transformed from the glass on the 6 to metal. The other is the large cameras the 7 has now compared to the 6. This comes with upgraded specs too on the insides.
The Google Pixel 7 lineup to me is at the same level as the iPhone 14 lineup and is also proving to be a hard competitor to Samsung's S22 Ultra which is going to make the smartphone market very interesting.
